Size 23x32 cm One of the most famous descriptions of the Netherlands in the 16th Century was made by the Italian Lodovico Guicciardini (1521-1589). His “Beschrijving van de Nederlanden” was reprinted many times between 1582-1648 Originaly wriiten in Italian, later translated into other languages. The book is rightly famous for its magnificent views and maps of the cities in the low countries.
