Monckhoven (1834-1882) was a Belgian chemist, physicist and photographic researcher. He devoted his entire life to photographic studies. He made important discoveries and advances in solar enlarging, artificial illumination, photographic optics, pigment papers and the process of gelatin silver bromide.
