Birds of South America

This is the first volume in a major new four-part work that will cover 33% of the world's birds. Volume I includes over 700 species of the true songbirds and features 31 colour plates by Guy Tudor, designed to show the birds' inter-relationships. The text by Robert Ridgely providesdescriptions of each bird and its habitat, range, habits, and voice. Also included are over 700 specially prepared distribution maps based on published sources and recent observations. the forthcoming volumes in this series wil follow a similar format.
