Explication abrégée des coutumes et cérémonies observées chez les Romains
Nieupoort (1670-1830) was a Dutch professor of ancient history in Utrecht. This translation from Latin by Abbé Pierre-François Guyot de Desfontaines is well-known. The work was translated and published several times: it was a good practical guide of Roman institutions and customs and was widely read and used.
