Faith - Spiritual Architecture

This title includes wide variety of recent religious building projects. Featured buildings are shown with plans, colour photographs and text. Temples, churches, mosques, synagogues, and pyramids - all are examples of one of the most ancient forms of architecture, the religious building. The challenge of designing a religious building is to find the balance between glorifying the deity or deities celebrated and providing a path for the worshipper to connect with the divine presence. This book presents a selection of recent projects, showing that while the most famous examples may be venerable and storied, religion continues to capture the imagination of architects, designers and other creative types.
