Making of a town

Under the direction of architects Rob Krier and Christoph Kohl, the "Kirchsteigfeld", Germany, was transformed from the bare land that existed in 1991 into a town with distinctive urban qualities. Their clear, functional program created remarkable spaces and landmarks; the wide spectrum of the architecture was enhanced by the richness of the landscapes and facades which were designed with the greatest possible individuality.

This volume is an important documentation of the founding of a unique and vital place.
