Miller's Glass of the '20s & '30s

Glass can be decorated in a myriad of ways by colouring, etching, cutting and gilding, which makes it ideal for creative, innovative design. During the 1920s and 1930s, a great variety of designs were produced by world-famous makers such as Lalique, Daum, and Steuben, which in turn inspired a range of other, more affordable, imaginative glassware. This work is an introduction to glass and glass collecting and is part of a series aimed at the budding collector. Wares are organized by type, such as cut glass, pate-de-verre, and enamelled glass. Each section includes explanations of materials and techniques, information on manufacturers and styles, and a range of photographs of items available at auctions, markets, fairs, and car-boot sales.
