Minuit [With an original watercolour by Serge Vandercam & a fine presentation inscription by Broodthaers]

First edition of Broodthaers' second collection of poetry. An exceptional copy, enriched with an original watercolour and gouache by Serge Vandercam extending over two facing pages around the poem “À la fée noire”, and with a fine contemporary presentation inscription by Broodthaers to “Tony” [reading uncertain], signed and dated May 1960: “À Tomy / avec amitié / en mémoire du temps / que nous gagnons à / l'amour (avec un grand A / même si nous sommes un / peu con) / Il est Minuit. / M.B. Mai 60 –”. Although the justification reserves an original watercolour by Vandercam for the 12 copies on Hollande (I–XII), several copies of the regular issue on pur fil are known with an original watercolour, as here.
