Romanticism and education

Argues that an understanding of romantic thought has major implications for educational thought and practice, especially in relation to themes such as imagination, creativity and personal growth, practices, in particular curriculum, pedagogy and the structure of schooling. The author relates the above to the thought and practice of key educators, notably John Dewey, Paulo Friere and AS Neill. In the process he provides a reinterpretation of romanticism.
