Before the coming of the diesels and electrics, what sort of steam locomotives were working in Greece or Portugal, or in any of the eighteen countries of Western Europe? Patrick Ransome-Wallis went to alle these countries to find out and in his book he presents the results of his travels with photographs and first-hand descriptions of all the more important locomotive types.
