Sunville

Ives Maes grew up in 'Sunville', a free translation of Zonhoven in Limburg. After his brother's suicide, he returned to his home village with a camera and a supply of roll film that had accidentally expired. The haphazard framing and color shifts in the photographs he took during his walks suggest an indefinable time. He combined these photos with images from his family album and from the historical archives of the municipality.
