Omschrijving
Nobody since Aristotle has contributed more than Frege to the technique and philosophy of logic. Up to now, however, Frege's influence has been largely indirect, by way of Principia Mathematica and Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus; and though both Russell and Wittenstein have acknowledged his greatness, few have been induced to consult his own works. Much valuable material has long been practically buried in the files of dead German Periodicals; the present selection at last makes this accessible to English readers. It also includes long extracts from the non-symbolic parts of Frege's masterpiece Grundgesetze der Arithmetik. Among these is the appendix to the second volume, in which Frege comments on Russell's Paradox.
