Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue? Positions in Color Field Painting takes as its theme the beginnings of Minimalist Art. Color Field Painting is generally accepted to be the first international trend to develop in the USA in the 1940s and 1950s and achieve equivalent status with what was then happening in Europe. It represents a fundamental and at the same time radical enquiry into the traditional concept of the picture in painting.
