Birgit Berg

Birgit Berg is a Dutch fantasy author who has been an avid reader since childhood, immersing herself in a wide range of genres and authors, from J.R.R. Tolkien to Dick Francis, and from Sue Grafton to Jacqueline Carey. She particularly enjoys well-written stories with characters one can truly empathise with—an aspect reflected in her own writing style. Quote Birgit: "I kinda love stories with a dark vibe…" At the age of 12, Berg wrote her first story on a traditional typewriter, sparking her passion for writing. After completing her bachelor’s degree in human resource management in Tilburg, she moved to Switzerland in 1993, enchanted by the beautiful mountains of the Bernese Oberland, and decided to stay. In 2010, she debuted with her fantasy novel "Lupidae," followed by "Drachion" and "Ekvilibro." These three volumes are now available in the omnibus 'Magia Trilogy.' After living in Switzerland for 23 years, Birgit returned to the Netherlands in 2016. She is currently working passionately on the long-awaited sequel to the 'Magia Trilogy,' expected 2026. Birgit Berg writes for adults and young adults. Her writing style is clear and fluid, combined with a slightly raw edge that is rare in fantasy.
