My purpose is to carry a message that serves to
improve or recover energy, metabolism and
overall health. The written message is
communicated through words. Words have meanings
that are not always known to all of us.
So, I do my best to avoid technical words or medical
terms. Whenever I am forced to use a technical word, I
make sure to also provide the definition of it so that the
person does not lose interest in the subject and can
understand it. Knowledge is power, but knowledge is
acquired through the words of the language.
When I am forced to use a word that I think could be
misunderstood, I provide the definition at the bottom of
the page, and I also include it in the definitions that are in
the GLOSSARY section at the end of the book. The idea
is that you can locate new words in the glossary without
having to use a medical or specialized dictionary.
However, it is always a good idea to have a good
dictionary handy because even a simple word of our
common language that is not understood can take away
your interest in what you are reading.
The same happens with the language. Many of the
words used while speaking Spanish, my native language,
are easier to understand in English than in Spanish.
Example: the human body produces a hormone that in
Spanish is called "glucocorticosteroide" and is the
hormone associated with stressful conditions. In English
this hormone is called cortisol and naturally it is much
easier to speak of cortisol than "glucocorticosteroide".
Since my main goal is to get the message across to the
readers, I choose to use the word that is easiest to
understand and remember, with the permission of the
language experts.
