Cities in Progress

Cities in progress is about urban buildings: structures that play a role that goes beoynd their usual function, one that makes them responsible for the development of the urban fabric. Taking the designs of Kraaijvanger - Urbis as its basis, the first part of the book describes how such buildings function as attractors, connectors and vitalizers. The second part analyses urban buildings in seven different settings in the Netherlands. Finally, the book contains a dialogue about the essence of urban design.
