Dynamic Anatomy

This book explores the expressive structure of the human form from the artist's point of view. Through 300 illustrations, author Burne Hogarth documents and explains the anatomical details of male and female figures in motion and at rest, always stressing the living form in space. Using diagrams and action studies, Hogarth examines the rhythmic relationship of muscles and their effect upon surface forms. Other drawings help artists understand the foreshortened figure and the figure in deep space.
