Gerhard Richter

Gerhard Richter is one of the most influential painters working today. Beginning in the early 1960s, his work in many mediums has garnered serious attention & international accolades. His paintings - subtly modulated photo-based works, thought provoking monochrome abstractions, & heavily painted, highly colored gestural canvases - are the subject of this lavishly illustrated monograph, published to accompany an exhibition opening at The Museum of Modern Art in February 2002, & subsequently traveling to Chicago, San Francisco, & Washington, D.C.
