KMD was founded in 1963 and has developed an international practice in architecture, planning, and urban design. The award-winning finn has offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Tokyo, Mexico City, and Kuala Lumpur, and has designed and completed construction in twenty-five states, France, Japan, China, Malaysia, Korea, and Mexico. KMD traditionally devotes approximately two percent of their fees to research and public planning projects that focus on the way people use buildings.
