First edition of this astrological work, of which only the first part was published. The author Bl. Fr. de Sagan (1603-1665) was a military engineer whose work "Les Fortifications" was an important influence for Vauban. After he lost his sight in 1645, he started studying and publishing in various scientific domains, including mathematics, geometry and astronomy. In "L'astrologie naturelle", he aims to transform astrology into an exact, rational science, stripped of superstition and magic. Engraved armorial vignette on title. Ref. Caillet 8252. Dorbon 3443.
