French edition of this famous early chess book, by the Calabrian G. Greco (1600-1634), first published in French 1669. Greco was the best chess player of his time, travelling to Rome, Paris, London and Madrid to beat the strongest players. He was the one of the first to record and publish entire games, mostly constructs against fictional players, but serving as examples of ingenious combinations. The book holds 2 parts: 39 fully recorded games, and 55 more advanced problems.
