Omschrijving
Lee Friedlander (Aberdeen, Washington, 1934) is one of the most influential photographers of our time and a master of 20th-century American photography.
Since the 1960s, Friedlander has continuously documented his world and surroundings; his photographs—at once sophisticated and innovative—reveal unexpected or ordinary aspects of everyday life.
The catalogue published by Fundación Mapfre to accompany the exhibition reproduces all the works on display and includes an essay by Carlos Gollonet—the exhibition's curator and Chief Curator of Photography at Fundación Mapfre—as well as a text by Nicholas Nixon, one of the most renowned photographers on the contemporary international scene.
It also features an interview between Maria Friedlander and Jeffrey Fraenkel, a gallerist and longtime close collaborator of the photographer.
