Megamix 2019

From 2017 to 2019, Megamix was an annual personal challenge Maya Strobbe set for herself. The concept was to create a book using the personal archive of photos taken with her smartphone during the previous year. For the 2019 edition, she meticulously cut out every element from the 723 pictures she captured that year and organized them into 251 categories. Each spread in this book showcases one of those categories, presenting a collection of objects that may initially seem unrelated but are linked by a common thread. Most elements fit within several categories and appear multiple times throughout the book. The outcome is a deconstructed encyclopedia of Strobbe's surroundings featuring more than 8000 images.
