Michael Schmidt – Natur

'Natur' is the latest published photobook of Berliner photographer Michael Schmidt (1945-2014). 'Natur' represents Schmidt's vision of nature in a series of previously unpublished photographs shot over the long run (from 1987 onwards) which reveals a parallel universe to the usual urban territory of the photographer, ruled by the quasi immemorial presence of the Wall. In 'Natur' Schmidt photographs landscapes and details that are reminiscent of his work on cities, showing the deserted and unwelcoming places.
