The design of urban public spaces is fundamentally based on conceiving the best possible accommodation for people and achieving an optimal configuration designed to offer a place of leisure, a haven for contemplation and rest or an ideal meeting place. In recent years, this branch of design has undergone an impressive development, and there has been a noticeable increase in the degree of sophistication and the variety of resources used by architects and landscapers when designing the common outdoor spaces that we see being built today.
