"150 nature, landscape, portrait, and architectural photographs celebrated the centennial of Paul Strand's birth. 61 photographs in the exhibition came from the Southwestern Bell Foundation, including 6 given to the National Gallery in conjunction with the exhibition and 55 promised as gifts. This exhibition was the first large retrospective of the artist's work since his death in 1976.
