Omschrijving
The Schindler House in West Hollywood has been lauded as a 20th century masterpiece. This book analyzes every aspect of the house's design and construction and shows why it was such a radical departure from the residential architecture that came before.
Author Kathryn Smith calls Rudolph Schindler's 1921-22 Los Angeles house "the first modern house." Now restored and open to the public, the house and its history are examined by Smith in her essay, with period illustrations, and by a portfolio of new color photographs by Grant Mudford.
