The complete robot

'The complete robot' is an anthology of Asimov’s stunning visions of a robotic future. In these stories, Issac Asimov creates the Three Laws of Robotics and ushers in the Robot Age - when Earth is ruled by master-machines and when robots are more human than mankind. As well as TN-3 (Tony), AL-76 and other robots, the stories feature the staff of US Robots and Mechanical Men Inc., and in particular the chief robot-psychologist, the steely Dr. Susan Calvin who is in many ways more robot-like than her subjects. Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics were programmed into real computers thirty years ago at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology - with surprising results. 'The three laws of robotics' - 1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm; 2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First law; 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second law.
