The Rough Guide to Madrid

Madrid is a mosaic of traditions, cultures and cuisines from all over Spain and further afield. Its chief delight is its people -- the Madrilenos -- hanging out in the cafes and terrazas, packing the lanes of the Rastro flea market or playing hard and very, very late in a thousand bars, clubs and discos. They consider other cities' nightlife dull and the Rough Guide aims to do justice not just to the city's clubs and bars, but to all its other consuming and cultural delights, from the Prado museum to theatre and cinema and day trips to Toledo and Segovia.
