Omschrijving

There was something different about the young carpenter who came to build a door for Master Eli. Jeshua bar Joseph of Nazareth was a simple, devout man who required little for himself. He worked diligently and was always fair with the price he asked for his labor. He respected all whom he encountered and spoke with a wisdom well beyond his years and station. With each passing day, this young man who had little formal education came to teach many. His words made people look to the heavens with fresh eyes and to their own actions with greater clarity. What did the people of Galilee make of this enigmatic character? Could they have known that this unassuming, soft-spoken carpenter would one day change the world?

The parables are some of the most influential and well-known stories in history, and in The Welcoming Door Kenny Kemp illuminates these timeless tales with an entirely new approach. With a style as simple and elegant as the parables themselves, Kenny Kemp reintroduces these celebrated stories, setting them as the formative experiences of the young man Jeshua bar Joseph, whom we know today as Jesus of Nazareth.

Jeshua, an unassuming young carpenter from Nazareth, lives his life like everyone else. He learns from his own experiences, the traditions of his people, and by inspiration of God. He soon proves to be a man of courage and integrity, a hard worker, a devoted son. And so with each story, each life-altering moment, we watch Jeshua become a leader of men. With rich and subtle detail, The Welcoming Door takes us inside the hearts and minds of the people of Galilee as we witness the Gospel in action.
