Tiepolo

Venice-born Giovanni Battista Tiepolo rose to become one of the most important artists of the 18th century. He found major patrons not only in Italy but also in Würzburg. His frescoes in the Würzburg Residence—which blend seamlessly with the architecture and have lost none of their brilliance to this day—are considered his masterpiece.
