Influenced by issues of structuralism (rather than appropriation or fabrication), each of these nine artists has focused almost scientifically on recording a very specific genre or type. Among the photographers: Bernd and Hilla Becher, Ed Ruscha, Judy Fiskin. Photos are accompanied by three essays and a bibliography.
