Water house

"Aqua-life" could well be the slogan of future generations who want to escape over-crowded, dry-land metropolises in search of greater freedom in cities and dwellings on, in, and under water. Urban planners, architects, and visiounaries have already begun exploring the utopia of aquatic habitats: the dream of a culture in close symbiosis with nature, which still offers an abundance of resources in a watery environment. Gigantic, maritime cities are taking shape on drawing-boards, floating elements unite to form temporary islands, settlements rise on stilts in the shallows of mud-flats, and frozen water is the raw material for futuristic architecture. Noah's Ark and Atlantis are not just myths: they are also modern realitites. The future of aquatic civilisation has already begun."--Back cover.
