What is Beauty?

Published to coincide with the Spring Fashion shows, this is an exploration of the changing definitions and images of beauty from some of the most influential image-makers of our time. Through their words and pictures, they force us to re-evaluate and ask ourselves poignant questions: what would we do for beauty?; what is the new beauty ideal?; do we crave artifice or nature?; how does the pursuit of beauty affect our sexuality?; why do we uphold unrealistic ideals? From heroin chic to androgyny, beauty in the 1990s is emerging as a completely new concept with few enduring rules or boundaries.
