You're a hen!

That was certainly true for the widely acclaimed You are a Hen! by Henk Kneepkens and Jacques Vriens . This year it appears in Dutch and English. Tim finds a hen by the roadside, fallen from a truck. The chicken is very confused, she cannot lay eggs anymore or say cluck and she cannot fly. Tim takes good care of her. To avoid being eaten, Tim shows her everything she needs to know but she does not behave like a chicken. Until she meets a cock .......... Painter, fabric designer and illustrator Henk Kneepkens came up with the story of You are a Hen! and made the wonderful illustrations. Jacques Vriens wrote the text. Together they created a very special picture book. It is a funny story and a very colourful book for children between the ages of 4 and 6.
