Amsterdam from above

When you walk through the streets of Amsterdam or take a tour from the water, you see a living city, the people, the buildings, the traffic. As you look at the beautiful aerial photography in this book it is as if time stands still. You see the clear frozen structure of the city. The streets, buildings, and water form a playful pattern of dazzling beauty. From the air the city of Amsterdam is a man-made work of art captured by these unique photos. Every image offers a surprise through what we see and know, but also through previously unseen elements. From the city centre dating from the middle-ages with Dam square and the Beurs van Berlage, via the seventeenth century canals, to the more recent developments and extensions, this book reveals with more than 140 sparkling colour images from above that cannot be brought into simple words.
