Omschrijving

English and Italian text.
A place of absolute prominence in the golden age of hillclimbs in Italy certainly belongs to the Bologna-Raticosa, a time trial that, in addition to a pioneering edition held way back in 1926, reached its peak between 1950 and 1969. Bracco, Cabianca, Palmieri, Bonetto, Castellotti, Govoni, Herrmann, Moioli "Noris", Ortner, and Venturi are the names of the drivers who won the race in those memorable years, behind the wheel of Ferraris, OSCAs, Maseratis, and Abarths. In other words, along the 43 km course (which was later shortened to just over 32 km from 1962 onward), some of the best drivers and cars of the era competed. Then, after a long silence, the Bologna-Raticosa was revived in 2001, first as an invitational race and then as a race valid for the Italian Historic Car Speed Championship. Recounting the story of this great classic are Carlo Dolcini, author of several books on the Mille Miglia, which retraces the "historic" editions of the race, and Francesco Amante, tireless architect and promoter of contemporary editions. The entire history of the Bologna-Raticosa is thus contained in a book that also features a rich collection of historical and modern images, as well as complete race rankings.
