Cult Rock Posters

From 1972 to 1982, rock posters-like rock itself--exploded with power and invention. Part visual history, part visceral history, Cult Rock Posters traces the evolution of pop music, from glam to punk to new wave, during a turbulent decade. These are the posters that inspired a generation--and interviews with rock stars, artists, photographers, and promoters fill in behind-the-scenes details. Author Roger Crimlis, one of Britain's most renowned collectors of rock posters, shares his own favorites, all in raw, torn-from-the-wall format. Adam Ant, David Bowie, Blondie, Marc Bolan, Bow Wow Wow, The Clash, Alice Cooper, Ian Dury, Brian Eno, Brian Ferry, Malcolm McLaren, Iggy Pop, Roxy Music, the Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, the Sex Pistols, X-ray Spex--if they were out there, they are in here. Gritty, rough, rude, the posters in this one-of-a-kind collection scream the story of their times.
