Erotica Universalis

This history of the erotic drawing from those on cave walls to those on paper is divided into the following periods: antique, classical, revolutionary, romantic, artis novae , and modern. Each section is briefly introduced in English, German, and French, and thereafter every page contains one color or b&w reproduction. Artists include Balthus, Dnrer, Dubuffet, Klimt, Beardsley, Picasso, Rembrandt, Rodin, Tom of Finland, and Egon Schiele. In these pages the voyeur/reader encounters mostly heterosexual intercourse of the oral, anal, and manual variety as practiced by human couples and groups and among people and animals. There is also sexual content without contact, as in the 1780 engraving where erect penises worship a disembodied vagina on an altar, and faces are composed of sexual organs. An index of artists and anonymous works is included.
