During the past twenty years, Kris Martin's artworks were shown all over the world. S.M.A.K. Ghent is finally giving the Belgian public the opportunity to get to know his eloquent oeuvre in more detail. The artist creates expressive images, mainly objects, that confront the audience with questions about death, transience, and identity. Literature and myths are his main source of inspiration. This lavishly illustrated catalog gives an overview of all artworks from the show and an interpretative text of S.M.A.K. director Philippe Van Cauteren.
