The broad interests of Triumph allowed, perhaps for the first time in Russian practice, to create some semblance of a wealth of choice for visitors to the Filonov exhibition, which recently finally arrived from St. Petersburg to Moscow — to the Pushkin Museum.

It is still a long way from the abundance of printed and souvenir products that Western viewers are accustomed to, but two editions for one exhibition is already an achievement. Moreover, they are in completely different price categories - the two-volume edition is located at a decent financial distance from the expensive but affordable catalog, designed for those who prefer the best and do not mind the price. It is funny that of all the domestic artists, such beauty went to the fanatically devoted to the ideals of the proletarian revolution, the selfless Filonov, who never even sold his works.

The silk-bound books differ from the much less demanding catalogue in both the quality of the print and the content. The publishers of the two-volume edition felt more relaxed - in the first volume they published fewer pictures, but allowed themselves not to crowd several illustrations on a page, highlighted fragments and showed works from private collections that were not included in the Russian Museum exhibition. The second volume contains even more discoveries: the first full publication of Filonov's manuscripts, memoirs of contemporaries and critical reviews of his works in the Soviet pre-war press.
