Mary Wollstonecraft (Godwin) Shelley released her book Frankenstein in 1818. Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who develops an obsession with creating life, is the main character of the narrative. The monster becomes furious and tries to end Victor's life after being abandoned by its creator and despised by society.
