Napoleon Bonaparte

Focusing on Napoleons last six yearsfrom initial shipboard captivity with the Royal Navy to his death in exile on St. Helena in 1821historian Frank Giles creates an authentic portrait of the fallen emperor. Napoleon labored to obfuscate his tyranny in France with a legend of him as the architect of a free Europe, while his jailer, Lord Lowe, has been reviled by contemporary critics and historians. In this new paperback edition, with eight pages of photographs, Giles presents a new and balanced view of Lowe and Napoleon, both condemned to a tiny Atlantic island for six years.
