First edition. 53 loose colour-printed cards on Arches 250 gr. paper, ca. 12 × 16 cm, preserved as issued in the original wooden box with sliding lid. One of only 100 numbered and signed copies.
Remarkable photographic artist's book, based on Krasnoshchok's 2011 project of the same name. The artist collected anonymous late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century cabinet and visiting-card photographs at flea markets in Kharkiv, subsequently scanning and radically reworking the images by colouring, drawing and removing parts of the original photographic emulsion. The title refers to the formula formerly printed by photographic studios on the backs of photographs, assuring clients that the negatives were retained for future orders. The work consists of 53 reproductions presented loose in a purpose-made wooden box. The publication was included in Vogue Italia's 2014 selection of the year's notable photobooks. A scarce and unusual artist’s book associated with the contemporary Kharkiv School of Photography.
