Paul Maze

Often described as "the last of the Post Impressionists", Paul Maze (1887 - 1979) was one of the great artists of his generation. He worked with oils, watercolours and pastels. His paintings include French maritime scenes, New York street scenes and the English countryside.
During the First World War, Maze met Winston Churchill in the trenches, which led to a lifelong friendship. After the war, Maze became Churchill's artistic mentor.
